The Lake Charles mayoral race is heating up, and the Southwest Louisiana Association Of Realtors will be hosting a FREE event that is open to the public where residents will be able to meet and ask plenty of questions to the candidates...

The following candidates are running for Mayor of Lake Charles:

• Wilford Carter II (D)
• Nic Hunter (R) – Incumbent
• Marshall Simien Jr. (Ind.)
• James Steward (No Party)
• Khalid Taha (R)

This is an excellent chance for residents to hear directly from the candidates, ask questions, and make informed decisions before heading to the polls. With major issues on the table, such as economic growth, infrastructure, and housing, the debate will provide valuable insights into each candidate's priorities.

Hosted by the Southwest Louisiana Association of Realtors® (SWLAR), this event will give voters a chance to learn about the candidates and their plans for the future of the city. The discussion will focus on important issues that impact real estate, local businesses, and the community.

The evening will include a mayoral debate, where candidates will share their views and answer key questions. Gus Fontenot from the Chamber of Commerce will serve as the event's moderator, guiding the discussion on major topics affecting Lake Charles. This event promotes transparency, accessibility, and trust-building between candidates and voters while encouraging civic participation.

Lake Charles residents will have a special opportunity to meet and hear from the candidates running for mayor at a free event on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The event will take place inside the Rosa Hart Theatre at the Lake Charles Event Center from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM and is open to the public.
