McNeese/Texas A&M Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather

McNeese Baseball’s matchup against No. 1 Texas A&M has been canceled due to inclement weather. The game was set to take place at Blue Bell Park, but heavy rains forced officials to call it off. No makeup date has been scheduled at this time, according to an official statement from McNeese Athletics.

The Cowboys (2-1) are coming off a successful weekend, winning two out of three games against Wichita State. McNeese took the series with strong performances at the plate and on the mound.

Redshirt sophomore Easton Dowell led the way offensively. Dowell posted a .455 batting average over the weekend with five hits, including a double and a home run. His clutch homer during Saturday's game gave the Cowboys a lead they never gave up.

On the mound, 12 different pitchers saw action during the Wichita State series, with nine making their McNeese debut. Senior Sergio Lopez and junior Caleb Strmiska both picked up wins to help the Cowboys secure the series.

McNeese will now shift its focus to a three-game home series against Oakland at Joe Miller Ballpark. The series begins Friday, February 21, at 6 p.m. This will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
