On Monday Night, the McNeese Cowboys will take a step up in competition as they will face off against the #2 team in the country, the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Will Wade and his Bayou Bandits, have had major issues scheduling Division I competition, hence the reason the Cowboys defeated the College of Biblical Studies on Thursday Night. But, Wade has lived and died by playing anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Wade and company were having issues throughout the offseason scheduling QUALITY non-conference opponents, so Wade made a call to a former rival. During Wade's time at LSU, the rivalry between the up-and-coming stars in the coaching world rose to an all-time high. Wade and Oats had many fierce battles on the hardwood, but Wade will tell you they are pretty similar in the way they do things.

Monday Night, the Cowboys will get their shot against one of the best teams in the nation. If you ask some, Alabama is the best team in the country.

The game at Coleman Coliseum will tip off at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network. Last season, McNeese State won its only game against a power conference team by defeating Michigan. However, Alabama is at another level.

Alabama is the highest-ranked team McNeese has faced since they opened the 2013-14 season against No. 2 Michigan State. Monday’s game will be the fourth meeting between the two teams, with Alabama winning the previous three matchups, the last one in the 2001-02 season.
