Reggie and Angela Ball first opened Ball’s Fried Chick-N back in 2003 at 606 Enterprise Boulevard — and that’s exactly where the new location will be, too. They’re bringing the famous fried chicken back to the same spot that so many people remember and love.

But the story of Ball’s goes back even further than 2003. Reggie Ball’s grandfather opened Ball’s Auditorium in 1947. It wasn’t just a music venue — it was also a restaurant and even served as a trade school for Black veterans returning from World War II. Over the years, Ball’s Auditorium hosted some of the biggest names in music, including James Brown, The Jackson Five, and Otis Redding.

Even though Ball’s Auditorium closed in the 1980s when big chains like Popeye’s came to town, Reggie Ball never gave up on the dream of bringing the family business back. That dream became reality when Ball’s Fried Chick-N first opened, and now it’s coming back once again.

Ball’s Fried Chick-N will open at 10 a.m. on Monday and stay open until 6 p.m. — or until they sell out, which could happen fast! To enhance the service, Ball’s Fried Chick-n will temporarily offer a limited menu consisting of chicken and sides only. Call-in orders are not available at this time. The Marshal’s Office will provide traffic control, and there will be additional parking at Sacred Heart.

If you plan to visit, be patient. After five years, a lot of people are excited to get their favorite fried chicken again. But trust us, it’s worth the wait.
