The McNeese football season is now underway and this Friday night is another edition of the McNeese Cowboy Block Party. The Cowboy Block Party occurs every Friday evening before every Saturday home game this season at the grove on the corner of Common and McNeese Streets in South Lake Charles.

The first block party was a blast as Three Thirty-Seven rocked the house to a ton of McNeese Cowboy fans. It's going to be a year of great entertainment for fans and students to enjoy as McNeese gets you ready for game day.

Some of the great entertainers who are scheduled to perform at future Cowboy Block Parties this year include Wayne Toups, Rusty Metoyer, and The Party Hounds.

Along with their flair for kabuki make-up and extravagant costumes, the four New Orleans natives cover songs in a style they have branded as Superpop: Any song popular from any era.

New Orleans Magazine named them one of the most popular local acts while also receiving “Cover Band Of The Year” honors by Offbeat magazine in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Don't miss the Cowboy Block Party this Friday night. The gates open at 6:00 pm and the music starts at 7:15 pm. The event is FREE to attend and open to all ages. Bring your chair, your blanket, and your favorite beverages, and get ready to blow off some steam after a long week of work. There will also be a ton of food trucks there so you can get you some food.
