Troy Clinches Berth: Sun Belt Seeding Scenarios

Troy defeated South Alabama for the second consecutive game at Riddle-Pace Field last night, clinching a berth in the Sun Belt Tournament.  Meanwhile, South Alabama fell to ninth place and no longer controls its own destiny to make the tournament, which they host next week.

Going into the final day of the regular season, here are the seeding possibilities (as best we can figure out.)

LOUISIANA (25-4) is the Sun Belt Regular Season Champion and the #1 seed for the tournament

UT ARLINGON (18-11) will be the #2 seed with a win OR an Arkansas State loss.  They will be the #3 seed with a loss AND an Arkansas State win.

ARKANSAS STATE (17-2) will be the #2 seed with a win AND a UT Arlington loss.  In any other scenario, they will be the #3 seed.

TEXAS STATE (16-13) is the #4 seed and will play WKU in their first round game on Wednesday.

WKU (15-14) is the #5 seed and will play Texas State in their first round game Wednesday

TROY (11-17) has clinched a berth in the tournament.  They will be the #6 seed with a win OR losses by ULM and UALR.  They will be the #7 seed with a loss AND a loss by EITHER ULM or UALR.  They will be the #8 seed with a loss AND wins by ULM AND UALR.  They will be the #7 seed with a loss AND losses by UALR AND ULM.  They will be the #8 seed with a loss and a loss by EITHER ULM OR UALR.

ULM (11-18) will be the #6 seed with a win AND a Troy loss.  They will be the #7 seed with a loss and losses by South Alabama AND UALR.  They will be the #8 seed with a loss, and a win by EITHER South Alabama OR UALR.  They will be eliminated with a loss AND wins by South Alabama AND UALR.

UALR (11-18) will be the #6 seed with a win, a Troy loss AND a ULM loss.  They will be the #7 seed with a win and losses by EITHER Troy or ULM.  They will be the #8 seed with a loss AND a South Alabama loss.  They will be eliminated with a loss AND a South Alabama win.

SOUTH ALABAMA (10-18) will be the #7 seed with a win and losses by ULM AND UALR.  They will be the #8 seed with a win, and a loss by EITHER ULM OR UALR.  They will be eliminated with a win, a ULM win AND a UALR win.  They are also eliminated with a loss.

GEORGIA STATE (10-19) has been eliminated.  They would lose all tiebreakers in a tie for eighth place.
