Steve Smith: Jake’s the Best QB I’ve Played With
The Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens meet up this week, but don’t expect former Panther and current Raven Steve Smith to choose Cam Newton or Joe Flacco as his favorite quarterback.
That honor goes to former Ragin’ Cajun and Carolina Panther Jake Delhomme. Jake led the Panthers to Super Bowl XXXVIII back in 2003. Since then, Smith has tasted the playoffs only three times.
Smith has played with 12 different starting quarterbacks during his career.
It was no secret Smith and Newton weren’t best buds. And, although they’ve been together only three games, Smith has good things to say about Joe Flacco.
But no one measures up to Jake. Not in Steve Smith’s opinion anyway.
