While Arkansas State, Louisiana and league-leading Georgia Southern all took Saturday off, play in the Sun Belt saw Idaho, Appalachian State and South Alabama all notch league wins.

Idaho (1-6, 1-4) got into the win column for the first time this year, defeating New Mexico State (2-6, 1-3) 29-17.  The Vandals rolled up 536 yards in the victory in Moscow.

Appalachian State rebounded from a loss to FCS member Liberty by blasting Troy 53-17.  The Trojans (1-6, 1-2) took an early 7-0 lead, but their only other touchdown came on a 99 yard kickoff return by Chandler Worthy.  By that time, Appalachian State had taken a 24-7 lead.  The Trojans turned it over four times and the Mountaineers (2-5, 1-2) had 551 yards in offense, including 441 rushing.

And, South Alabama survived a scare from Georgia State in Mobile before prevailing, 30-27.  Brandon Bridge threw a touchdown pass to Danny Woodson with just over 4;)0 to play as the Jaguars (4-2, 3-1) avoided the upset.  Georgia State dropped to 1-6. 0-4 with its sixth straight loss.
