Saints Take On 49ers In NFC Divisional Playoffs-Game Preview

The New Orleans Saints will put their nine-game win streak on the line on Saturday, when they travel to San Francisco, California, to take on the San Francisco 49ers, in the NFC Divisional Playoffs.

New Orleans won their final eight regular season games, and then defeated the Detroit Lions, 45-28, in last week's wild-card round.

The Saints are shooting for their second Super Bowl appearance in the last three year's, but to do that, they must win two more game, with at least on of them being on the road, a place they have never won in the playoffs.

New Orleans is 0-4 on the road in the team's history.

The Saints were 13-3 overall, during the regular season this year, including a 5-3 road record.

For San Francisco, they're making their first post-season appearance in nine years.

The 49ers were 13-3 during the regular season, including a 7-1 home mark.

The Saints' offense ranked as the best in the NFL in 2011, averaging 467.1 yards-per-game, while the 49ers ranked 4th defensively, allowing a mere 308.1 yards per contest.

The Saints are led by quarterback Drew Brees, who 468-of-657 passes this year, for an NFL single-season record 5,476 yards, along with 46 touchdowns.

Brees, who was 33 of 43 for 466 yards and three touchdowns last week against the Lions, needs one TD pass to match Johnny Unitas' record of at least one in 49 straight games,

The 49ers have a solid ground attack, headlined by Frank Gore, who piled-up 1,211 yards, and eight touchdowns, on 282 carries.

Whoever wins will have travel to Green Bay, in the NFC Championship next week, in the Packers defeat the New York Giants, this week.

If the Giants win, whoever wins the game between the Saints and the 49ers would then host New York.  

Kick-off time is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
