Pelicans Guard Tyreke Evans Strains Right Hamstring In Pickup Game
The New Orleans Pelicans will be without one of their best players when they begin training camp this Tuesday.
The team announced Saturday that guard/forward Tyreke Evans strained his right hamstring last week playing pickup basketball. As a result, he is expected to miss 3 to 5 weeks.
"Tyreke injured his hamstring playing pickup basketball out of town last week," said Pelicans GM Dell Demps in a press release. "He is back in New Orleans rehabbing with our medical staff. Hopefully, he will be cleared to play the season-opener."
New Orleans first preseason game is next Saturday, with the regular season-opener slated for October 28th.
