Denard Robinson

The Michigan Wolverines lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide, 41-16, last Saturday, and thier in-state rivals, the Michigan St. Spartans took notice, especially of the struggles of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson, who was on 11-of-26 passing in the game, and was held to under 40 yards rushing.

Mlive.com put together a few tweets from Michigan St. Spartan players taking direct shots at Robinson.

“I can play quarterback for the school in blue,” linebacker Jamal Lyles tweeted. “(Le’Veon Bell) for heisman > the other guy in the great state of michigan.”

That's just one the the negative tweets delivered by a Spartan player about Robinson.

There were others. As a matter of fact, some were so bad, they were even taken down.

My question is why?!?!?

Why in the world would you give bulletin board material to a future foe?!?!?

You wouldn't say those things to a newspaer reporter, so why in the world would you tweet it?!?!?

Guys, that's just plain stupid!

You might say it's just guys having a little harmless fun, and that may very well be the case. But again, why fire up a future opponent when you don't have to?

Sure, Michigan St. has won four straight against Michigan, so they have the right to stick out their chest a little bit, but come on...Robinson is good. They were playing Alabama, and not too many quarterbacks look good against the Crimson Tide.

Besides, are the Spartan players forgetting that they lost to Alabama, 49-7, in the 2011 Capital One Bowl?

How soon they forget!

Stop acting foolish on twitter. It serves no purpose, other than to make you look just that...foolish.
