The New York Mets reached agreement on a two-year deal with free agent pitcher Bartolo Colon on Wednesday night

The 40-year old Colon went 18-6 with a 2.65 ERA. for the Oakland Athletics in 2012.

Colon, who broke in with the Cleveland Indians in 1997, has a 189-128 career record, along with a lifetime 3.94 ERA. in 16 Major League Baseball seasons.

A two-time All-Star, and two-time 2-game winner, Colon won the American League Cy Young Award while pitching for the Angels in 2005

In his two seasons with the A's, Colon compiled a record of 28-15, with a 2.99 ERA.
