It looks as though the LSU Tigers and Wisconsin Badgers are close to a two-game college football series, beginning in 2014.

The first meeting may be as early as 2014, with the two universities opening up their respective season in a match-up scheduled for Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The second meeting in the series would be held at Lambeau Field, home of the NFL's Green Bay Packers, on a future date.

LSU and Wisconsin have only met twice before on the gridiron, with the Tigers winning both match-ups, back in 1971 and 1972.

Wisconsin already has a deal in place with another SEC powerhouse, opening up the 2015 season against Alabama, in the Cowboys Classic, in Arlington, Texas.
