Want to hear how the next "Voice of the Tigers," Chris Blair, sounds? Jim Hawthorne left some mighty large shoes to fill.

After the beloved broadcaster called his last baseball game for the folks in purple and gold, Hawthorne said his goodbyes over the radio from Omaha. LSU didn't make its fan base wait very long wondering who would be the next man making the calls. They announced this weekend that Chris Blair will be sitting behind the microphone, starting in the 2016 baseball season.

Hawthorne will finish out his tenure by calling the 2015 football and basketball season. Then it wil be in Blair's hands.

Blair called games for Georgia Southern University for nearly a decade, and literally grew up in the radio business with a father as a broadcaster. Getting to follow in the path that Hawthorne blazed for the last three decades is a task he takes very seriously.

"The incredible opportunity and privilege to follow behind the legendary Jim Hawthorne, one of the most recognized and respected voices in college sports is truly a dream come true," Blair said.

LSU said he stood out as a candidate and referred to him as a rising star. Take a listen for yourselves, Tiger Fans. His voice will be coming out of your radio starting in 2016.
