Lafayette Resident Qualifies For U.S. Gymnastic Olympic Team

Savannah Vinsant, who currently attends South Louisiana Community College, has qualified for the United States Gymnastic Olympic Team.

The 18 year-old native of Newton, Texas qualified for Olympic team last Thursday, in London, England, by piling up high scores in her compulsory and optional routines.

Vinsant currently trains in Lafayette, under the direction of Tara Guidry and Dimitri Poliaroush.

The 2012 Olympics will be held in London, England from July 27th to August 12th.
