They've only been a Division I program for six years.

They play without a conference affiliation.

Yet, Dallas Baptist University is just two wins away from making an appearance at the College World Series.

The Patriots were the #3 seed at the Fort Worth regional this past week.  In their first game, they dispatched #2 Oklahoma.  The next day, it was the top seed TCU.  And, after dropping a game to Oral Roberts, they bounced back with a win in the finals to set up their first Super-Regional appearance, where they will face California out of the Pac-10.

The Patriots, like so many mid-major teams, certainly don't get the same talent that you find at other big schools in Texas.  But for DBU, it's what the schools does with the student-athlete once he arrives on campus.
