Eric Gordon Says He Will Return From Injury Wednesday

New Orleans Hornets shooting guard Eric Gordon says that he will play tomorrow night when the Hornets host the Denver Nuggets. Gordon has not played since January 4th, and has only played in 2 games this season due to a knee injury.

Head coach Monty Williams isn't guaranteeing Gordon will suit up tomorrow night.

"We'll see," explained Williams when asked about Eric's playing status for Wednesday's game. "It's always the next day (to determine) whether or not he feels sore."

Gordon went through a physical practice today and appeared to feel good afterwards.

"I'm looking forward to playing, " said the soft spoken Gordon. "I feel fine, and I'm ready to move forward into playing."

This is welcome news for Hornets fans who justifiably wondered if they would ever seen Gordon suit up again this season. Despite reports that Gordon would return this month, the original diagnosis to his knee was a bone bruise.

Various reports in December cited Gordon's expected return after a few weeks, not a few months. As weeks passed, his return was continually pushed back as doctors called for his knee to receive more "rest." After awhile, it became evident the knee was not healing the way team physicians expected it to. On February 14th, Eric underwent surgery to remove loose cartilage in his right knee. The arthroscopic surgery only led Hornets fans to further question any timetable relating to Gordon's return to the playing court.
