Throughout the World Series, Madison Baumgarner has been nearly unhittable.

After allowing a leadoff hit in the fifth inning, he allowed no more until two were out in the ninth and, as a result, the San Francisco Giants are the World Series Champions for the third time in five years.

Baumgarner won his third game of the 2014 Fall Classic as the Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in game seven.

Baumgarner finished the series 3-0 with an 0.43 ERA.  In the game clincher, he threw 68 pitches in five innings of work with four strikeouts.  He did not walk a batter.  Alex Gordon singled with two out in the ninth and went to third on an error.  But the left hander got Salvador Perez to foul out to Pablo Sandoval to end it.  He was named the series' Most Valuable Player.

The Giants got on the board first on sacrifice flies by Michael Morse and Brandon Crawford in the second inning.  But the Royals tied it  in the bottom of the inning on Gordon's RBI double and a sacrifice fly by Omar Infante.

In the fourth inning, Sandoval reached on a base hit and eventually scored on Morse's soft liner to right off reliever Kelvin Herrera for what proved to be the game winner.  Jeremy Guthrie took the loss.

The Giants became the first team to lose game six on the road and bounce back to win game seven since the Cincinnati Reds did it in Boston in 1975.
